Ellinogermaniki Agogi

Ellinogermaniki Agogi (EA) is one of Europe’s most innovative schools, with 2500 students (ages 5–18) and 250 teachers across disciplines. EA specializes in Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE), Project-Based Learning (PBL), and STEM education, integrating digital tools like virtual and augmented reality with story-based learning. Continuously modernizing STEM education, EA creates user-driven learning environments and provides professional development for teachers to navigate 21st-century challenges. Established in 1995, EA’s Research and Development Department drives pedagogical and technological innovation, bridging research, technology, and education through collaborations with academic, research, and commercial institutions. EA is a founding member of the European School Innovation Academy (ESIA), promoting IBSE competence frameworks and fostering a European science education community. EA is an official training centre for professional development recognized by the Greek Ministry of Education. EA actively connects science and education by collaborating with research institutions, museums, and schools to enhance public understanding of science. It leads large-scale policy initiatives, including Reflecting for Change and Open Schools for Open Societies, which introduce open-schooling concepts to schools across Europe and the USA.

Role: EA with its long expertise will lead the implementation of training activities (WP5) while the team will mainly contribute to WP2 (based on the extended experience in openschooling and Living Labs methodology), to WP4 (by mobilizing the OSOS and the ESIA communities) and to WP6 (the assessment of the critical thinking and creative problem solving competence is among the main research fields of the team). Also, EA’s leading role in Road STEAMer project, the participation in the SYNAPSES and ACT AI Academies, will strongly support the development of the STEAM NEXT STEP Roadmap.
