Project Resources
Inspiring the Future of STEAM Education
The STEAM NEXT STEP project will provide a comprehensive and high-quality set of resources designed to support both pre-service and in-service teachers, as well as school units, in effectively integrating STEAM approaches into educational practice. These resources aim to foster innovation, inclusivity, and collaboration, while strengthening the connection between education, creativity, and real-world challenges.

STEAM NEXT STEP Academy Roadmap
At the core of the project lies the development of a modular STEAM curriculum framework, accompanied by training materials and learning modules tailored to different levels of experience and school readiness (Starter, Enabled, Advanced, Master). These materials will equip educators with practical methodologies for designing and implementing interdisciplinary learning scenarios that combine science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—placing particular emphasis on performing arts as a driver of creativity, expression, and engagement.
Teachers will have access to a rich repository of ready-to-use lesson plans, project-based learning scenarios, and classroom activities, co-created and tested within real school environments. These resources will be aligned with European priorities for key competences, sustainability, and digital transformation, and will include guidance on how to adapt content for diverse learners, ensuring inclusive and equitable participation.
To support professional growth, the project will also offer digital training courses, webinars, and blended learning opportunities, enabling educators to build competences in STEAM pedagogy, collaborative teaching, and innovative assessment practices. A dedicated focus will be placed on assessment for learning, providing tools and frameworks that help teachers evaluate not only knowledge acquisition but also creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
In addition, STEAM NEXT STEP will develop guidelines and toolkits for school leaders and school units, supporting whole-school approaches to STEAM integration. These will include strategies for fostering collaborative school cultures, engaging stakeholders, and embedding STEAM into school development plans. Schools will also benefit from self-assessment tools and progression pathways, allowing them to identify their level of STEAM maturity and plan targeted improvements.
A key resource of the project will be the creation of an online platform and community of practice, where educators can access materials, share experiences, exchange best practices, and collaborate across countries. This platform will act as a dynamic hub for networking and continuous learning, strengthening a pan-European STEAM education ecosystem.
Finally, the project will produce policy recommendations and research-based insights, supporting the sustainability and scalability of STEAM education. By combining pedagogical innovation, artistic expression, and scientific inquiry, STEAM NEXT STEP will empower teachers and schools to deliver engaging, future-oriented education that prepares learners for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
