University of Malta

The University of Malta (UM) is Malta’s primary public educational institution, aligning with the Bologna Process and European Higher Education standards. UM has a rich 400-year history, enrolling 11,500 students, including 1,000 international students from 92 countries. The university offers a variety of degree and diploma programs, graduating approximately 3,500 students annually. UM comprises 14 faculties, numerous departments, institutes, and centres, and is active in European and international university networks. Over the past 15 years, UM has coordinated and participated in 365 EU-funded projects across multiple programs, such as Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, and Erasmus+. Currently, UM is managing around 300 active projects.

Role:  UM will contribute to all the WPs of the project but mainly to the efforts of framework development (WP2) to the development of the training programme and learning material (WP3), to all training activities (WP5) and community building in Malta (WP4), will contribute also in the assessment methodology (WP6). UM as a university that provides initial training for teachers is highly committed in updating its own education programme with the outcomes of the STEAM NEXT STEP Academy as well as with its accreditation.
